Life & Death of a Glacier

Lasercut in foam, audio
35cm x 35cm x 20cm

The Aletsch Glacier is melting at
unprecedented rates and is
expected to disappear
completely in 100 years.
By converting meteological data
and recorded sounds from the
melting process into audiotracks,
the death of this glacier
can be sonically experienced.
In this growing collection,
each track represents
one year and each second
of audio represents
one meter of melted ice.
